Once you have done that a new window will pop up which you use to build your island. You first need to select
- Rise/Lower - this is the option which builds your terrain.
- brush size - you have to manually paint your terrain, so your brush size determines how big your paint brush is.
- Height - Height is very important, the height refers to how much above sea level the terrain goes. the smaller the number is genuinely better, but of course its about your imagination.
You then draw your island on in the blue square in the "terrain editor". Remember despite how high you set you "Height" the longer you click the higher the terrain gets. do this till you have an island you like.
You will notice the blue mini map mimic's the main map.
You will notice if you zoom into your island with the scroll wheel on your mouse that the terrain looks very jaggy, this is not an AA (Anti-Aliasing) issue, this is the terrain simply not being smooth, so to fix that select the "Smooth" tool and paint over your rough edges that same way you made the terrain, in the mini map or on the main screen.
Here it is after the smoothing...
So there we go, we have made a small island, Easy right. Leave a comment if you need help.
