Getting Started - First Level

Ok so I am sure you are keen to get started. so download the FREE SDK (software development kit) from here. It's about 1.8GB I believe. Once its downloaded you will need to make an account and password through their site to log into the SDK, just so crytek know how many people are using it I guess.

After you open it up you will be greeted with this after hitting new level.

for your first level you can just name your level and hit ok to the next few dialogue boxes. Once that is done you will be greeted by the SDK

Looks good right, the SDK uses real time rendering so you know exactly what you are getting. This however does mean that It can slow you computer down (hardware depending), if it does slow down then go to the "config Spec" and lower the graphics.

To navigate use the W,A,S,D to move forward, back, strafe left and strafe right. Also use the mouse scroll wheel to zoom in and out and hold down the right mouse button then move your mouse to adjust the camera angle. Ok so your first level is created, we will now add "terrain" to build and island level.
